Change to Uniform Policy
We are writing to inform you about an exciting update to our school uniform policy. Following a thoughtful suggestion from our College Council, we have decided to implement a change regarding the wearing of jumpers.
What’s Changing?
Starting from 25 February 2025, wearing jumpers will no longer be compulsory as part of the school uniform. This decision comes after careful consideration and feedback from students, aiming to provide greater comfort and flexibility for our pupils.
Why the Change?
Our College Council, which includes representatives from our student body, raised the idea to make jumpers optional. This change is intended to reflect the diverse needs of our students, accommodate varying weather conditions, and ensure that our school uniform remains practical and comfortable.
What Does This Mean for Your Child?
- Optional Jumpers: Students can choose whether to wear the recommended school jumper with their school uniform.
- Other Uniform Requirements: All other uniform requirements remain unchanged. We kindly ask parents to ensure their child adheres to the rest of the uniform policy.
PE Clubs & Fixtures – JagTag Cancelled
Please see the PE calendar on our website for details of all the PE clubs and fixtures taking place this week: Swanmore School - PE Calendar. Please note that JagTag is cancelled after school tomorrow, Wednesday 12 February. This club will resume after half term.
Absence Reporting Reminder
Please be reminded that all absences, including partial-day medical or dental appointments, should be reported via the ClassCharts app or by calling the absence line (option 1) and leaving a message. Our phonelines are extremely busy so please avoid calling through to the office unless it is an emergency late notice absence. Any absence longer than one day should be requested in advance by completing one of our orange Leave of Absence forms that are available from Pupil or Visitor Reception. Full details about absence reporting and how to download and use ClassCharts can be found on the website: Swanmore School - Absence Reporting
Message from University College London
