World Book Day – Thursday 06 March 2025

As part of our literacy week celebrations, we would like to remind you that pupils and staff are invited to dress-up as a literary hero or villain for World Book Day on Thursday, 06 March 2025. Pupils who dress-up will be awarded ICC points and there will be prizes for the best costumes. Anyone not dressing up for World Book Day will need to wear full uniform as usual please.

Enrichment Spring 2025

We are so pleased that our pupils are enjoying their enrichment activities this term. However, we do need your help to continue to offer the wide array of choices for your child, so we are asking for a small donation of £10 for this term.  Your donation will go towards the purchasing of the equipment/materials. Donations can be made online via www.scopay.com ‘Enrichment Spring 2025’, or by cash/cheque (payable to Hampshire County Council) to Pupil Reception.

Pupils on Sports Coaching, Future First Aiders and Golf have been contacted separately to pay for their enrichments, which are now due.  Payments can be made online via www.scopay.com or by cash/cheque (payable to Hampshire County Council) to Pupil Reception.

Student Librarian Vacancies

We are looking for student librarians to help in our school library. This role will require pupils to:

• Help keep the library organised
• Learn how to find and use books and resources
• Learn how to use the Dewey System
• Assist other pupils with their library needs
• Work in a calm and friendly place
• Gain valuable experience for the future
• Enjoy special library resources and training
• Issue and return books
• Sell stationery and equipment

Year 9

Any Year 9 pupils who are undertaking DofE, please be reminded that we are now at the stage of preparing for our first expedition at the end of April. You are therefore expected to attend after school every Wednesday from tomorrow, 1500-1600hrs in W02, to fully plan out your routes for both days and your menu plan.

This will take place weekly until your team has completed the task. That means that if you get it all done in 2 weeks, then you do not need to return until we issue your kit. Your whole team is expected to attend and help, so please ensure each of you are attending. We also have your T-Shirts to issue this Wednesday.

Any Year 11 pupils who are interested in an engineering apprenticeship as a potential alternative to full-time college education, please keep an eye on the SETA apprenticeship vacancies page on their website, or see the attached bulletin for further details. The Govt Apprenticeship Website is also a useful resource as nearly 95% of all apprenticeship adverts (whatever the sector) will appear there.
