Professional Day – Monday 24 February 2025

Our next professional day is taking place on Monday, 24 February 2025. This is the day after the half term break. The college will be closed to all pupils.

KS3 – National Literacy Survey

Swanmore College have signed up to take part in the National Literacy Trust’s Annual Literacy Survey. Now in its fifteenth year, the survey explores children and young people’s literacy behaviours, attitudes and enjoyment. The survey will take place in English lessons for years 7 and 8. Unifrog lessons will be used for year 9. By taking part in the 2025 Annual Literacy Survey, pupils will be contributing to up-to-date, essential data on children’s literacy. This will help to continue to track annual trends and provide a consistent national measure of children’s literacy. The survey is NOT a test.  There are no right or wrong answers, and pupils can ask their teacher for help at any time.
The survey does not ask for names and is anonymous. Only the National Literacy Trust will see the responses. The National Literacy Trust store everything according to the privacy rules (GDPR). For more information on privacy, please visit https://literacytrust.org.uk/information/privacy-policy/

PE Kit Expectations - Reminder

We would like to remind you that pupils should be wearing full, correct PE kit for all their PE and dance lessons, and on a Wednesday if they have a physical enrichment activity. Hooded tops or items of sportswear with logos of any kind are not permitted (unless they bear a Swanmore badge). Pupils should wear black socks only with their PE kit, no white socks or logos please. If pupils are wearing any item of incorrect PE kit to school, they will have their proud card ticked and be sanctioned accordingly. Sparsholt College Group are offering an online Q&A session for pupils and their parents/carers to kick-start National Apprenticeship Week. This is taking place on Monday, 10 February 2025 from 4:30 – 5pm.
