Attendance

What does attendance actually mean?

Schools show attendance as a percentage % and this is reported on Class Charts and on end of term reports. To help explain, we have shown below School Attendance % as how many days have been missed alongside how many lessons this means have been missed.

It is important to keep track of your child's attendance throughout the year. We should be aiming to keep attendance above a minimum of 95% at all times, remembering the importance of attendance from our last post.

100% Attendance- no days missed and all lessons attended

97% Attendance- 6 days of School missed and 36 lessons not attended

95% Attendance- 9.5 days of School missed and 57 lessons not attended

90% Attendance- 19 days of School missed and 114 lessons not attended

We are holding our Careers Fair after school between 4pm - 6pm on Thursday, 09 October 2025. We have over 25 different FE colleges, Universities and companies attending this event. This is an essential event for assisting with next steps. The School Careers leader and Careers Advisor will be available to briefly discuss and book interviews at the event.

It is a free drop-in event for parents, carers and pupils in the Swan Café and Main Hall – there is no need to book!

We look forward to seeing you there.
