All Pupils
Word of the Week
The Word of the Week is ‘Eloquence’ - noun fluent or persuasive speaking or writing - "a preacher of great power and eloquence".
Pupils will be encouraged to use this word in their work and around the college this week. Please also encourage them to use it at home with you too.
Seville Trip Meeting
Reminder that there is a meeting on Thursday 10 October 2024, about the upcoming trip to Seville in October half term. This meeting will take place in the main hall at 6pm. Pupils and their parents/carers should attend if possible, but information will be shared afterwards for anyone who cannot make it.
First Aid Incidents and Medication Administration Notifications
To keep you informed about first aid incidents and medication administration on site, we are now using a service called Medical Tracker. Medical Tracker not only allows us to inform you of first aid incidents and medication administration by email, but it also allows us to analyse the data we record.
Medical Tracker will be beneficial to us all because the college is able to:
- record and track first aid incidents that involve pupils
- log and track medication administration for pupils
- email promptly following a first aid incident
- email promptly after medication has been administered
Medical Tracker is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and all information you provide will be kept private and not shared with any other organisation.
When we use Medical Tracker, email messages will be sent from donotreply@medicaltracker.co.uk as this is for information purposes only. Please add this address to your email address books (or approved sender list) to prevent messages from being blocked by your SPAM/JUNK filters.
Uniform
Staff are delighted to report that most pupils are wearing their Swanmore College uniform correctly and to a high standard. To date, we have only had to lend a corrected change of uniform to 40 pupils. This equates to 3% of the pupil population.
We cannot thank you all enough for ensuring that your children are attending each day wearing the correct uniform and showing pride in Swanmore College. Very well done to everyone concerned.
International Walk to School Month
We encourage all parents/carers and pupils to support International Walk to School Month in a bid to ensure pupils at Swanmore remain healthy. Further information can be found here:
International Walk to School Month 1st- 31st October | Active Together (active-together.org) or via International Walk to School Month (livingstreets.org.uk)
Wessex Rotary Shoebox Appeal
We would like to remind you that we are supporting the Wessex Rotary Shoebox Appeal and asking pupils to bring in donations of gifts for children in other countries less fortunate than us. Please see attached flyer for information on this appeal and ideas of what to donate. Please note that we can only fill the shoeboxes they have provided to us, so please just send in unwrapped items to put in these and tutors will pack them. Please send donations in by Friday 11 October 2024. Thank you for your support with this worthy cause.
