Swanmore Sports Weekly Roundup: w/c 24 March 2025

Last week saw our pupils and even our staff showcasing their sporting talents across a variety of fields.
Year 10/11 Girls' Football at Mountbatten School
Our Year 10/11 Girls' Football team travelled to Mountbatten School on Monday for a competitive fixture. Despite a 4-2 loss, the team played exceptionally well. Emma's outstanding performance, scoring both goals, earned her the player-of-the-match award. Well done, Emma!
Year 7 Boys' Football at Mountbatten School
Tuesday saw our Year 7 Boys' Football team conclude their season at Mountbatten School. They faced Toynbee and Perins in two close encounters. While they narrowly lost both games, the team demonstrated significant progress since their previous visit. We are immensely proud of the dedication and improvement shown by all Year 7 boys who represented Swanmore College this season. We are hoping to arrange an 11-a-side friendly before the end of the summer term to prepare the team for next season.
Year 7 Girls' Football at Henry Beaufort School
Our Year 7 Girls' Football team played a friendly against Henry Beaufort School on Tuesday. The team drew 1-1 in a closely contested match. Scarlett's exceptional performance earned her the player-of-the-match award, voted by our opponents. Well done, girls!
Year 7 Boys' Rugby at Bohunt School
Yesterday, our Year 7 Boys' Rugby team travelled to Bohunt School for a friendly. This was a valuable opportunity for the team to build on their tournament experience from last week and introduce new pupils to the game. After a challenging first half, the team improved significantly in the second half, focusing on tackling and rucking. We look forward to their final fixture against Toynbee next week.
Year 10 Boys' Football vs. Toynbee School
Our Year 10 Boys' Football team hosted Toynbee School on Thursday, delivering a dominant performance and securing a 6-3 victory. Goals were scored by Igor (3), Jack (2), and Archie. Well done, boys!
Staff Football Team Makes History!
Friday marked a historic moment as our Swanmore College Staff Football team played their first-ever competitive game. The team travelled to Deer Park and emerged victorious with a 4-2 win, with goals from Potter, Doe, Coulter, and Phillips. Congratulations to the team!
